TÜNDE FRANKÓ
Soprano
Tünde Frankó
is one of the leading sopranos of Hungarian State Opera.
She started
her musical studies when she was seven, first to play the violin.
She graduated from the Szeged faculty of Liszt Ferenc Music Academy
as a singer in 1987. Her professors were: Valéria Berdál, György
Sinkó, Kálmán Gyimesi.

In 1991/92
she reached the finals at Pavarotti Singers Competition. |
 |
She became
a member of Szeged State Theatre in 1989. |
 |
She sang
Lauretta at the Volksoper in Vienna, Mimi in Bregenz. |
 |
From 1994
she has been a member of the Hungarian State Opera. |
 |
She won
4 Hungarian artistic prizes in 1995 and she participated
at the Bodensee Festival. |
 |
After the
birth of her child, she performed as Susanna in the State
Opera. |
 |
In the
season 98/99 she sang Mimi, Butterfly, Margit, Michaela,
Fiordiligi, Rosalinda, Tatjana and Liú in the Hungarian
State Opera. |
 |
In the
year 2000 she participated on a tour to Japan with Butterfly,
and on an opera gala in Münich. |
 |
She was
invited to Hungary’s biggest open-air opera festival
to Szeged to take part in Offenbach’s Hoffmann’s tales. |
 |
In the
past years she participated in four world premieres of
Hungarian contemporary operas in Budapest |
 |
She sang
Mimi on the 2001 Budapest Spring Festival, and Butterfly
also in March in the Budapest State Opera. |
 |
She sang
a succesful concert with José Cura in Budapest,
June 2001. |
 |
She sand
Rosalinda in Japan on the tour of the Hungarian
State Opera 2002 |
 |
In 2002
she will sing Hong-Kong, Japan, Münich among others. |
